Nepal being small and landlocked country with natural and cultural beauty country having unity in diversity. The land topography of Nepal is divided into three form lower ; Teria, the mid ; Hill and the upper ; Himalayan region.
Kathmandu: Kathmandu is capital of Nepal which is at center point. Kathmandu is the largest metropolis in hilly Himalayan region of Nepal. Bhaktapur: Beside the Kathmandu, Bhaktapur is another beautiful and traditional ancient city in Nepal. Bhaktapur used to be the ruling throne of Kathmandu valley until king Yakshya Malla divided the kingdom into three sons. The term bhaktapur refers to ‘‘the city of devetees’’. Bhaktapur is home for the ancient and traditional art and architecture, historical monuments and crafts, magnificent windows, pottery and weaving industries, excellent temples, beautiful ponds, rich local customs, culture region, festivals, and musical mystic and so on. It is an untouched as well as preserved ancient city of Nepal.
Lalitpur: Lalitpur is also known as “Patan”. Lalitpur is third largest city and metropolitan city of Nepal. Lalitpur is the city that is very rich in cultural heritage, particular its traditions of arts and crafts. Lalitpur is considering as the richest among the three districts in Nepal in sculpture, wood crafts and fine arts.
Illam: Illam is the most beautiful hilly region of Nepal which is located in the eastern region of Nepal. Illam is famous for the tea garden where you can find the breathe taking and beautiful views. Illam is best hill station that provides the short trek with the walk on beautiful landscape full of tea garden. There are many places to visit in illam and they are Shreeantu dada, Mai Pokhari, Sandakpur, Kanyam, Pashupatinagar and Fikkal.
Dharan: Dharan is a beautiful town in the eastern region of Nepal which is surrounded by the hills in the eastern side. Dharan was the recruiting town for the Gurkha soldier until 1990. The best place to visit in Dharan are Dharan Bazzar, religious sites such as Budha Subba, Dantakali, Bhedetar etc.
Koshi Tappu Wildlife Reserve: Koshi Tappu is a protected area in eastern terai of Nepal which covers an area of 175 square kilometers. The reserved area is home for the animals and different species of birds. Mammals including Asian elaphant, spotted deer, hod deer, golden jackal and wild Asian water buffalo. Birds like watercock, dusky eagle, owl, black headed cuckoo shrike, common golden eye etc there are altogether 485 species of birds found in the Koshi Tappu Wildlife reserve. Koshi Tappu is in the bank of river Sapta Koshi which is mainly inhabitant for the buffalo called Arna” which is water buffalo which love to move in herds.
Janakpur: Janakpur is best pilgrimage site for the hindu that is connected with the history of Ramayana which is birth place of goddess Sita. Most of the people in Janakpur are from the Mithila and they are famous for their painting. Janakpur is a place where lord Ram married goddess Sita.
Chitwan national park: Chitwan national park is one of the famous and the oldest national park of Nepal. It is first national park of Nepal formally called as “Royal Chitwan National Park” situated in inner Terai of Nepal which was established on 1973 AD. The area of Chitwan national park is 932 sq. Km. Chitwan national park was listed in UNESCO world heritage site in 1984. The national park is famous for the endanger animals such as Royal Bengal Tiger and One Horned Rhino found in Nepal. Other mammals and reptiles are also the major attraction of the Chitwan.
Bardiya national park: Bardiya national park is the largest national park of Nepal which is located in terai region covering the area of 968 sq km. Bardiya national park is virgin national park which is less visited by the tourist. The park is famous for 30 different mammals, 250+ species of birds and the varities of reptiles and other water animals. Like Chitwan national park Bardiya national park is also famous for the Endanger animals ; Royal Bangal Tiger and One Horned Rhino. This park also provides opportunities to take part in fishing activities in the great Karnali river and in river Babi.
Sagarmatha national park: Sagarmatha national park is protected area situated in the Himalayan region of Nepal. This national park is home for the highest mountain “Mt. Everest” which is famous for trekking, unique landscape views and various variety in wildlife and more than 118 species of birds. The rare species such as snow leopard, lesser panda, the crimson horned and the Lophophorus impejanus (Himalayan Monal) , Nepal’s national bird which is the major attraction of the Sagarmatha National Park. Sagarmatha National park was also a UNESCO world site listed in 1979 AD.
Khaptad national park: Khaptad National park is located in the far western region of Nepal that was established on the 1986 AD. Khaptad national park is famous for the religious place of Nepal. Khapad national park is rich in flora and fauna. The park is famous for the different medicinal herb where it has 244 species of medicinal herb and it offers 270 species of birds, birds like flt-catcher, bulbuls, cukoos and eagles. Khaptad national park is also home for different animals like barking deer, wild boar, ghoral and langur monkey etc.
Rara national park: Rara Natonal Park is protected area in Himalayan region of Nepal that covers 106 km2. It is the smallest National park of country which was established on 1976 AD. The National park has protected different rare and endangered animals like Himalayan black bear, red panda, musk deer, Leopard cat, grey wolf etc. The national park also protects the Nepal’s largest lake known as “Rara Lake”. Rara national park is home for the 51 species of mammals, 241 species of birds, 2 species of reptiles and amphibian, and three species of fishes. Being the smallest national park it is home for 107 species of flora.
Shey phoksundo National park: It is the largest and the only trans-Himalayan national park of the country covering the area of 3555 km2 which was established on 1984 AD. This national park has the deepest lake of Nepal, Phoksundo Lake and is rich in wildlife. Shey Phoksundo National park is home for the different wild animals like snow leopard, wild dog, goral, Rhesus Monkey etc and 6 species of reptiles and 29 kinds of butterfly and birds like Impejanus, Yellow throated marten, Tibetan Snow Cock, Brown dipper and Himalayan Lammergeier.
Shuklaphanta National Park: This is the area protected in terai region of far western region of the country covering the area of 305 km2 which was established on 1976 AD. It has the largest grass land in the far western region of country. Shuklaphanta national is home for the many species such as tiger, rhino, crocodiles, wild elephant and various migratory birds.
Langtang national park: Langtang national park is the first national park established in himalayna region in 1976 with the area of 1710 km2. The park is catchments of two main river systems – Koshi and Trishuli. The major places to visit inside the national park are the langtang valley, and the holy gosaikunda lake. The langtang national park is easily accessible from the capital of the country. The Langtang National park is inhabitant of red panda which can be found in the national park.
Shivapuri Nagarjung National Park: Shivapuri Nagarjung National Park is nearest one from the Kathmndu valley with the area of 159 km2 which is located just 12km away. This national park is best for a day hiking around the Kathmandu valley and also famous for mountain biking. Shivapuri Nagarjung National Park area has been important source of water inside the Kathmandu valley. Banke National Park: Banke national park is located in the mid western region of Nepal with an area of 550km2 and was established on 2010 AD. The Banke National Park is home for 124 plants species, 34 species of birds, 24 kinds of reptiles, 58 kinds of fish and 7 kinds of amphibians.
Makalu Barun National Park: The Makalu Barun National park is located at the base of the Mt. Makalu (8463m) fifth highest mountain in the world which was established in the 1992 with an area of 1500km2. The protected area is home for 315 species of butterflies, 43 species of reptiles, 43 species of amphibians, 78 species of fish and 440 species of birds. There are 88 species of mammals which includes snow leopard, jungle cat, golden jackal, Himalayan wolf, red panda, flying squirrel, hanuman langur and Himalayan thar etc. Asian golden cat was observed in Makalu Barun National Park in 2009 AD.
Pokhara. Pokhara is a beautiful and second biggest city of Nepal which is located in the western part of Nepal. This city has beautiful lakes such as;Begnas Lake, Phewa lake; which is surrounded with the snow capped mountains. Pokhara is another best destination to visit in Nepal. Pokhara reflects to be the second Kathmandu with the flow of tourist and the activities of tourist every where. Lumbini: Lumbini is the birth place of Gautam Buddha which is holiest land mark for the Buddhist international. Lumbini was listed in UNESCO world heritage site in 1997 AD. Chandragiri hill: Chandragiri hill is consider as the best one day hiking route inside the Kathmandu valley. Chandragiri hill lies 17km away from the capital Kathmandu just 6km from Thankot. Manang: Manang is situated at an altitude of 3519 m above sea level in the Western development region at Gandaki zone same as the beautiful city of Pokhara and which is in broad valley of Marshyangdi river to north of the Annapurna mountain range.
