Poon Hill Sunrise Trek


General Information

Poonhill is the beautiful ridge located to the north of Pokhara. Poonhill is famous for offering the best sunrise views in Pokhara. One can easily take the short Poonhill trekking package to reach the enchanting ridge of Poonhill. The pleasant sunrise at Poonhill trek passes through culturally rich villages that are set against the backdrop of majestic mountains. Along with sunrise view over Annapurna Mountain, Poonhill also offers panoramic views of several mountains including Annapurna and Dhaulagiri Mountains. Heading north of Pokhara, we will take one hour of drive to Nayapul. We will leave the wide pitch black road and follow the off the beaten trekking trail. The trail continues through gushing river, forest of blooming rhododendrons and Gurung settlements to Poonhill. Along with sunrise view, one can awaken spiritual feelings in the tranquil Annapurna region.

Poonhill trekking route passes through the settlement of Tikhedhunga to Ghorepani. We will visit the famous hill station of Poonhill and enjoy the sunrise view. Trekking continues through Ghorepani back to Nayapul. Pokhara lies one hour of drive far from Nayapul.

Itinerary and details:

Day 01: Arrival In Kathmandu and transfer to Pokhara
This is the first welcoming day that you meet upon arrival at the Kathmandu International Airport and fly back to Pokhara and shifted to hotel. Can have some leisure time for self refreshment. overnight at hotel.

Day 02: Pokhara to Ulleri (2073m.)
Early morning after having breakfast, drive from Pokhara to Nayapool for 42 km then trek start from Nayapool to Birethanti trek then you will cross Modi River. From here take left side, follow all the way to Burundi Khola to Ramghai/Hille where you will have lunch and after lunch from Ramghai and from hille about 30 min to Tirkhedhunga ( 1577m.) a small gurung village and from here cross the hanging bridge and trek to Ulleri (2073m.). Ulleri is a small gurung village from where you will see the mounatin of Annapurna South (7219m.) and Himchhuli (6441m.).

Day 03: Ulleri to Ghorepani 2874m.)
Early morning from Ulleri village after breakfast trek start to Banthanti ( Village before start to forest-2350m.) and from Banthanti another gentle trek for Nangethanti (2550m.-Lunch place). Here you will walk inside of Oak and rhododendron forest. After lunch another move towards Ghorepani (2874m.) A beautiful Magar village from where you will see the range of Dhaulagiri and Annapurna ranges.

Day 04: Ghorepani to Tadapani (2660m)
Early in the morning before breakfast you have to start our sunrise trip from Poonhill (3210m). Poonhill is a popular view point in Annapurna Ranges from where you can see the Mountains as: Dhaulagiri I-8167m., Tukuche Peak-6920m., Dhampus Peak-6012m., Nilgiri-7061m., Annapurna I-8091m., Annapurna South-7219m., Himchhuli-6441m., Fishtail-6997m., Annapurna II-7937m., Lamjung Himal-6920m., Manaslu-8163m., and many more. After sunrise trip you will back to Ghorepani, Take breakfast and after breakfast you start our trek to Deurali a gentle trek from the ridge. After Deurali another gentle downhill to Banthanti for Lunch. After lunch you will enjoy a very nice gentle up and down to Tadapani Village (2660m.). Tadapani is a small gurung village totally surrounding by rhododendron forest from where you will get mountain view of: Annapurna South-7219m., Himchhuli-6441m., Fishtail-6997m., Mardi Himal etc in closed distance.

Day 05: Tadapani to Ghandruk (1952 m)
Trek start after breakfast from Tadapani to Bhise-Kharka with a gentle walk in the forest with lots of down and flat for Ghandruk (1952m.) .This day you will have your lunch at Ghandruk. Ghandruk is a beautiful Gurung village from where you will get the Mountain view of; Annapurna South-7219m., Himchhuli-6441m., Fishtail-6997m., Mardi himal etc. After lunch you will go for village tour in Ghandruk specially old town of Ghandruk and Ghandruk Gurung Museum for 1-2 hrs then back to hotel for rest.

Day 06: Ghandruk to Pokhara (915m)
This day you will start our trek after breakfast from Ghandruk to Sauli-Bazar down and flat walk. From Saulibazar another easy and flat walk from corner of Modi Khola for Birethanti for lunch. After lunch trek for Nayapool and drive back to Pokhara. Overnight at hotel

Day 07: Pokhara to Kathmandu (1345m)
After having breakfast, you check out from the hotel and fly back to Kathmandu and directly transferred to international zone for the flight.

  • After 24 hours 50% refund
  • After arrival of the customer at the service site 0% refund i.e. non refundable.if the booked ticket is cancelled due to any of the reasons of the company, such ticket shall be postponed to next hike or shall returned the entire amount to booking agent.
